A: Yes! North Texas will host matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ between June 11 and July 19, 2026.

Q: How many games will be played in Dallas?
A: Arlington, Texas will host 9 matches during the tournament, including a semi-final.

A: In 2026, there will be 48 teams competing in 104 total matches, the most ever in World Cup history. 

WHO IS THE NORTH TEXAS FIFA WORLD CUP ORGANIZING COMMITTEE?

Q: What is the North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee?
A: The NTFWCOC is the official organizing committee responsible for the planning and executing events for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Dallas and the North Texas region.  The NTFWCOC is comprised of seven board members and an assigned team focusing on fundraising, operations, stadium prep, safety and security, sustainability, fan festival and ancillary events, human rights, transportation, legacy, volunteers, training sites, accommodations, and overall event planning.

A: Hosting a global event like the World Cup is huge—it needs careful coordination. The Committee ensures everything runs smoothly, meets FIFA standards, protects human rights, boosts the local economy (an estimated $1.5-2 billion), and gives fans, teams and players a world-class experience.

Q: Has Dallas ever hosted the World Cup before?
A: Yes! Dallas hosted 6 matches in the 1994 World Cup at the Cotton Bowl Stadium. 

Q: What is the World Cup Legacy Program?
A: The Legacy Program are various initiatives established by the North Texas FWC Organizing Committee to leverage the power of the World Cup to create lasting social impacts.  Our legacy program can be a catalyst for positive change in efforts toward investing in youth soccer initiatives, sustainability efforts, human rights programs, and opportunities for underserved communities.

Q: Where will the World Cup games be played?
A: Matches will be held at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas. 

Q: Are there other places involved besides the stadium?
A: Yes! Some important places include: 

• Base camps where teams stay and train 
• The FIFA Fan Festival at Fair Park in Dallas 
• The International Broadcast Center at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center 

Q: What is the FIFA Fan Festival?
A: The FIFA Fan Festival is the heartbeat of the World Cup in a host city.  It is the central fan destination for the FIFA World Cup, serving as a vibrant hub for fans from around the globe.  The FIFA Fan Festival offers an atmosphere where fans can enjoy all 104 live matches, music, entertainment, culture, food, games, and activations. It is free and open to everyone at Fair Park in Dallas. 

TICKETS

Q: Can fans buy tickets right now?
A: Due to the anticipated demand around the FIFA World Cup 26™, tickets are released in phases and often require applying for the chance to buy tickets. There will be several of these distinct ticket sales phases from the opportunity to register for tickets on September 10, 2025, through to the final match on July 19, 2026. Each phase may differ in purchasing processes, payment methods, and ticket products. In order to have the chance to buy general tickets, fans should register their interest at FIFA.com/tickets to learn about the next opportunity to apply for tickets. Fans can currently purchase hospitality packages, which include tickets by contacting info@dallasfwc26.com.

Q: What is the process for buying tickets?
A: Fans are encouraged to visit FIFA.com/tickets to register their interest and create their FIFA ID. Details on each sales phase will be detailed here.

Q: What teams are going to play at these matches?
A: Currently, only the teams representing the three host countries – Canada, Mexico and the USA – have the cities and dates assigned. Teams playing at each match will not be known until after the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 26™, which is expected to be held in December. Until then, fans will be able to buy tickets based on date and location.

A: A special Regional Mobility Plan is being developed, focusing on: 

• Travel between airports, stadiums, hotels, and venues 
• Improving mass transit 
• Making pedestrian routes safe and easy 
• Integrating accessibility considerations 

SAFETY & SECURITY 

Q: Will the World Cup be safe for visitors?
A: Yes. Local, state, and federal agencies are working with FIFA to ensure a regional safety and security plan is put in place for the event.  There are sixteen focus groups and expert planning teams working across the DFW metroplex on coordination of public safety for the World Cup in the DFW region.

HUMAN RIGHTS & SUSTAINABILITY 

Q: What is the World Cup doing about human rights?
A: Dallas has a Human Rights Plan that addresses 21 issues that are categorized under safeguarding and inclusion, worker safeguards, and access to remedy in our sphere of control. A cross section of the items in the plan are: 

• Responsible contracting policy that our vendors must adhere to that prohibits human trafficking and labor exploitation. 
• Regional, industry wide training on Human Trafficking, Accessibility, LGBTQIA+ sensitivity.  
• Awareness campaign that will cover anti-discrimination, human trafficking and cat calling. 
• Publishing Free Speech toolkits to ensure that free speech zones and time, place, and manner restrictions are properly understood.  

FIFA will also have several human rights measures in place for their sphere of control such as the stadium which they will have exclusive use of to ensure that human rights mitigations are in place and addressed.  

Q: What kind of environmental projects are planned?
A: Sustainability plans include: 

• Planting trees and monitoring air quality 
• Reducing single-use plastics 
• Donating leftover food 
• Saving water and protecting local wildlife 
• Hosting community clean-up and education events 

VOLUNTEERING

Q: What does the FIFA volunteer journey involve?
A: The volunteer journey at a FIFA event is exciting! It involves applying and completing a brief online assessment, attending Volunteer Team Tryouts, accepting your role, completing your training, picking up your accreditation pass and uniform, and being part of delivering a world-class event. Please note that if you are offered a role, you will need to complete and pass a background review.

Q: Will accommodation be provided for volunteers?
A: No, volunteering-related expenses are not covered by FIFA. Volunteers will need to arrange their own travel to the host country and Host City, as well as accommodation, and cover any other related costs. Information about local transportation during tournament time will be shared with volunteers in due course.  

Q: Does FIFA cover any expenses for volunteers? 
A: Volunteering-related expenses are not covered by FIFA. Volunteers will need to arrange their own travel to the host country and Host City, as well as accommodation, and cover any other related costs. Volunteers will receive meals and refreshments during their shifts. Information about local transportation during tournament time will be shared with volunteers in due course.  

Q: Does FIFA help volunteers obtain visas? 
A: FIFA is unable to help volunteers obtain visas. Volunteers must follow the entry requirements of the host country in question.

Q: What is the time commitment?
A: The tournament runs from 11 June to 19 July 2026. Volunteers must commit to completing a minimum of eight shifts during this period. Shifts will be between six to eight hours, and some roles may start as early as May.

Q: Who is invited to the in-person Volunteer Team Tryouts?   
A: Selected applicants are invited to continue their volunteer journey and attend the in-person Volunteer Team Tryouts in the preferred Host City indicated on their application.   

Q: Who is invited to the virtual Volunteer Team Tryouts?   
A: A limited number of virtual Volunteer Team Tryout slots will be available for selected volunteers who live outside the state or province of the Host City indicated on their application.    

Q: Where will I receive information about the Volunteer Team Tryouts?  
A: You will receive an email invitation with detailed information about your session. Follow the link in the email to book your spot.  

Q: What do the in-person Volunteer Team Tryouts entail? 
A: These fun and informal sessions will be an opportunity for you to meet the Volunteer Management team and share why you would be a great addition to the FIFA volunteer team. It is also a chance for you to meet other volunteers and learn more about what it is like to volunteer at a FIFA event. Keep in mind that this session will be conducted in the host country’s official language and will last roughly 90 minutes. 

Q: What do the virtual Volunteer Team Tryouts entail? 
A: At the virtual Volunteer Team Tryouts, you’ll discover what makes the FIFA Volunteer Program truly special and connect personally with a member of the Volunteer Management team to share why you’d make a great addition to the FIFA volunteer team. Keep in mind that this session will be conducted in the host country’s official language and will last roughly 30 minutes.  

Q: I booked my session for the Volunteer Team Tryouts, but I have not received any additional details.  
A: Be sure to check your email (including junk or spam folders) for any updates about your upcoming Volunteer Team Tryouts session. You can also check your dashboard on the FIFA Volunteer Portal for relevant updates. 

Q: I can no longer attend the Volunteer Team Tryouts. Can I give my spot to someone else?  
A: If you can no longer attend your Volunteer Team Tryouts session, you may reschedule through the FIFA Volunteer Portal if another session is available. An invite to the Volunteer Team Tryouts cannot be transferred to friends or family. Please note that in order to be offered a volunteer role, you must attend the Volunteer Team Tryouts.   

Q: I forgot to book my Volunteer Team Tryouts session. Can I still attend?  
A: We are unable to hold your spot if you do not book your attendance. If the deadline has passed and you have forgotten to reserve your session, your spot will be offered to another volunteer. You may reschedule through the FIFA Volunteer Portal; however, we cannot guarantee that another spot will be available. Please note that attending the Volunteer Team Tryouts is a necessary step in your volunteer journey, and we will be unable to move forward with your application if you do not attend.  

Q: What happens if I cannot attend the in-person Volunteer Team Tryouts session in my preferred Host City?  
A: Attending the in-person Volunteer Team Tryouts is a necessary step in the volunteer journey. A limited number of virtual Volunteer Team Tryout slots will be available for volunteers who live outside of a 300-mile radius from their selected Host City. For individuals who live within a 300-mile radius of their selected Host City, attending in-person is mandatory.  

Q: I am an international volunteer. Can I still attend the Volunteer Team Tryouts? 
A: International volunteers who are invited to move forward in the volunteer journey and participate in the Volunteer Team Tryouts will receive detailed information on attending a virtual session.  

Q: Do I need to bring anything with me to the Volunteer Team Tryouts?  
A: Please be sure to have your confirmation email handy, and do not forget to bring the identification document that you used when filling out your application for the Volunteer Team Tryouts. There will be nowhere to secure your personal belongings, so please bring only the items that you need. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy!  

Q: If I miss my Volunteer Team Tryouts session, can I still volunteer at the FIFA World Cup 26™?  
A: If you miss your Volunteer Team Tryouts session, you will receive an email with a link to reschedule if there are spots available at another session. If you are unable to attend, please reach out via our support channel.  

Q: When should I expect to receive a potential role offer?  
A: Role offers for the FIFA World Cup 26 will be sent out between December and February, depending on your Host City. We encourage you to regularly check your email (including your junk or spam folders) and the FIFA Volunteer Portal to stay updated on any notifications. Please note that in order to receive a role offer, you must attend the Volunteer Team Tryouts.  

Q: Will my disability prevent me from volunteering at the FIFA World Cup 26? 
A: Not at all. FIFA is committed to ensuring that all volunteers have the support they need. If you indicate that you have a disability on your application form, we will work with you to ensure that you have an accessible and inclusive experience.  

Q: Where should I park?
A: You will receive an email with all the relevant information pertaining to your Volunteer Team Tryouts prior to the event.   

Q: Can I bring a friend or family member with me to the Volunteer Team Tryouts?  
A: Please do not bring your friends or family, including children, to the event. The Volunteer Team Tryouts are open only to those who have booked a session. 

Q: Is there a dress code for the Volunteer Team Tryouts? 
A: There is no dress code. Please be sure to dress comfortably for the event.

A: The FIFA Fan Festival™ does not have vendors, other than local restaurants.  An RFP will be posted in Q1 of 2026 for local restaurants who wish to have a food stall at FIFA Fan Festival.

A: No. Use of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ intellectual property—including, but not limited to: logos and emblems, official slogans, Host City logos and designs, event imagery, or official merchandise designs is strictly regulated and protected by FIFA’s global IP rights.

Q: If I’m a business, can I say I’m connected to the World Cup?
A: No. You cannot imply any connection, sponsorship, or endorsement with the FIFA World Cup unless you are an official FIFA Commercial Partner or an official Host City Supporter. Using the logos, marks, IP‘s, or names without approval is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized use of FIFA marks may result in cease and desist orders, legal enforcement actions, or seizure of materials. 

Q: What happens if I use FIFA or Host City logos without permission?
A: Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited. You may be required to remove the materials or face legal action. The goal is to protect FIFA World Cup™ images and rights and ensure fair use of its brand.
