Sustainability in the FIFA World Cup 26 Dallas

As Dallas prepares to host the FIFA World Cup 26™, sustainability will be a central focus in every aspect of planning, from venue and event operations to community engagement and legacy. AT&T Stadium in Arlington will host nine matches, more than any other host city. This presents a unique opportunity to showcase Dallas’s commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term progress, leaving a positive and lasting impact on both the city of Dallas and the global soccer community.

Commitment to Sustainable Practices

A comprehensive sustainability plan has been developed to ensure the event is environmentally responsible, economically beneficial, and socially inclusive. This sustainability strategy will focus on reducing the environmental impact of the tournament, supporting local communities, and promoting long-term benefits for the city. The plan will be executed in collaboration with FIFA, local authorities, businesses, and residents, ensuring that sustainability is woven into every aspect of the event. • Sustainable Transportation: A key element of the event will be providing eco-conscious transportation options, including electric buses, shuttle services, and partnerships with local public transit systems to reduce carbon emissions and promote the use of sustainable modes of transport.
  • Waste Reduction and Recycling: Throughout the tournament, Dallas will implement a comprehensive waste management program, focusing on recycling, composting, reducing food waste and recovery, and reducing single-use plastics at all the stadium and fan fest.
  • Community Engagement and Legacy: The World Cup will work closely with local communities to promote environmental awareness, sustainability education, and long-term community benefits. The goal is to leave a positive legacy for Dallas, including improvements in public infrastructure, sustainable tourism practices, and community-focused environmental projects.
