Anita Simmons is a marketing strategist and brand storyteller with two decades of experience developing campaigns that strengthen brands, activate public spaces, and connect communities through thoughtful, creative communication.

She began her career at a market research firm before moving into media advertising at Belo Interactive, where she managed advertising across five major U.S. news markets. That early foundation sharpened her ability to blend data, creativity, and strategy—skills that continue to guide her work today.

Anita is known for building meaningful brand reputations through a mix of digital campaigns, public relations, newsletters, stakeholder engagement, and earned media. She’s led media buying and directed large-scale productions to increase awareness and drive support—especially for nonprofit fundraising efforts. Her marketing leadership has supported organizations such as Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens, Wipe Out Kids Cancer, and Girls Inc. of Metropolitan Dallas.

While serving as Director of Marketing, Communications, and Events for Uptown Dallas Inc., Anita developed a series of community-driven events and led the launch of a public art initiative celebrating local creatives. Earlier in her career, she was part of the four-person team behind the opening of the Sundance Square Plaza in Fort Worth, promoting and producing high-impact events like ESPN College GameDay, concerts, and large-scale festivals that helped boost visibility and business for local merchants.

Anita is the founder and creative director behind ASIF.Shop, a jewelry brand built to honor female leadership, community, and intentional design.

She holds a degree in Journalism and in Marketing with a concentration in Advertising from the University of North Texas, and her extensive international travel continues to inform the global perspective she brings to public engagement, placemaking, and brand strategy.
