Joe Trahan is a sports media professional who has spent nearly two decades in the professional/collegiate sports public relations ranks. He joined Tony Fay PR as a senior director within the Sports/Entertainment Group, while specifically being charged with spearheading communications for the North Texas FIFA World Cup 2026 Organizing Committee.
Trahan has gained experience throughout the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the NCAA/college sports, as well as internationally with NFL Europe (Hamburg, Germany).
Previously, he spent 17 years (2007-2024) with the Dallas Cowboys Public Relations Department, including most recently serving as the Director of Media Relations and Corporate Communications from 2021-24.
Along with assisting with the Cowboys day-to-day football communications, he was also the primary press contact/media coordinator for AT&T Stadium and The Star in Frisco where he worked such events as Super Bowl XLV, the inaugural National Championship Game (2015), the annual Cotton Bowl, the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four Championship (2014), international soccer matches, world championship boxing, WrestleMania and the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Trahan began his NFL career as an intern with the Detroit Lions public relations department in 2006, and before that served as a graduate assistant for one season with his alma mater Southern Miss (2005-06) and as a summer intern with the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets (2004).
Trahan owns two degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science (Sport Administration) and a Master’s of Arts (Public Relations).
